Nominations for the 2015-16 Cadre of Distinguished Educators are being accepted now through Sept. 30.
Educators can self-nominate themselves for CODE or colleagues and administrators can nominate them. Once nominated, educators will receive an invitation to an informational meeting to learn more about CODE and the application process.
Nominees can attend one of four informational sessions in the South Campus Breezeway (the former District Office):
- Thursday, Oct. 8, 3 p.m. or 4 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 12, 3 p.m. or 4 p.m.
The Cadre of Distinguished Educators offers educators throughout the David Douglas School District the opportunity to take on leadership roles while remaining in their classrooms. Through the leadership program, educators can help to influence decisions in the school district, engage in long range planning, provide peer-to-peer professional learning, and help develop a culture of shared leadership in service to students.
In 2014-15, 18 educators were inducted into CODE. You can learn more about them here or contact them for more information about their experiences applying and now serving as leaders.
