Effective Educator Evaluations
All professionals need and deserve high quality feedback on their job performance in order to rise to new levels of professional growth and achievement. Education is no different. Through effective evaluations, we become stronger practitioners as classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators. And as we get stronger, so do our student outcomes.
Educator evaluations begin with the David Douglas School District Teacher Performance Standards. These 22 standards across four domains are the language of instruction. Through self-evaluations, goal setting, mid-year reviews, ongoing collaborative conversations, observations and end-of-year conferences, we consistently engage in a reflective process about our educational practice. This reflection with our peers helps us grow as educators.
The resources available here can assist you in completing the various components of the evaluation process from your self-evaluation through to your summative evaluation.
